We've developed a new Youth Strategy that aims to improve the experiences of young people living, working in and visiting Baw Baw Shire.
Throughout June and July, we used a combination of online surveys and in-person sessions to collect lots of different thoughts, ideas and feedback from people aged between 12- and 25-years old living in Baw Baw Shire.
We used all the feedback we gathered as input directly into the draft Youth Strategy, then we made it available for community feedback so you had the chance to see what we'd created and provide any feedback before it was finalised.
This strategy has been endorsed by Council
The final draft of the Youth Strategy 2024-2028 was presented to Council at the Wednesday 6 March 2024 Council Meeting, where it was endorsed for implementation by Council.

Project Timeline
Phase One: Community Consultation
Youth Strategy 2024 - 2028 has finished this stage
Young people were encouraged to help shape their future by getting involved in the consultation process and completing a short online survey between Monday 19 June and Tuesday 25 July.
There were also events where community members could provide feedback in person. Including Snowfest and the Baw Baw Job Skills Expo.
Following stage one, all feedback was collated and was used to develop the draft strategy.
Phase Two: Developing the Draft Strategy

Following Phase One, we reviewed all of the feedback we received and used it to put together the draft Strategy, which includes desired outcomes you identified and plans for how we can go about achieving them.
