Public exhibition of Planning Scheme Amendment C154Bawb - Baw Baw Economic Land Use Strategy
Council have prepared amendment C154bawb to the Baw Baw Planning scheme which is currently on public exhibition, in accordance with Section 19 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
Amendment C154bawb implements recommendations of the Baw Baw Economic Land Use Strategy (Charter Keck Cramer, 2023) which seeks to help shape and direct the future of Baw Baw Shire as a major peri-urban location by facilitating an efficient planning system that encourages investment and employment growth.
The amendment makes updates to Local Planning Policy and rezones land in Warragul and Drouin to facilitate and enable an increased supply of land available for economic uses. The amendment proposes to introduce the Baw Baw Economic Land Use Strategy (the Strategy) as a Background Document in the Baw Baw Planning Scheme.
Council resolved to prepare and exhibit amendment c154Bawb at the Council meeting held on 12 March 2025.
The amendment documentation can be accessed online via the Department of Transport and Planning website link provided in Important Links.
Submissions
Any person may make a submission about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.
Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.
The public exhibition period closes on 21 June 2026.
