Governance Group

Overview:

The Shaping the Future of Noojee, Local Development Strategy Program is entering its final phase, and with its conclusion comes the opportunity to ensure lasting support for the Noojee and District community. As part of the transition, we have established a Governance Group with the intent to support an inclusive and sustainable governance and decision-making framework that enables transparent and accountable practices and promotes community participation.

About the Governance Group:

The community-led decision-making body will continue to represent the community beyond the lifetime of the Shaping the Future of Noojee project, which is scheduled to conclude in December 2026.

The group will provide strategic oversight, advocacy, and guidance for ongoing and emerging community-led initiatives post-transition. The structure of the Governance Group contains representative of the Noojee community (including Innovation Working group members), business and government agencies.

Key Objectives:

  • Ensure community priorities remain central to ongoing development through community engagement and participation in decision-making.
  • Support transparent and accountable use of resources.
  • Advocate for Noojee and District’s long-term interests and sustainability.
  • Maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Review and provide recommendation of funding applications.
