Noojee & District Community Development Association (NDCDA)
Overview:
The Shaping the Future of Noojee, Local Development Strategy Program is entering its final phase, and with its conclusion comes the opportunity to ensure lasting support for the Noojee and District community. As part of the transition, we established a Governance Group with the intent to support an inclusive and sustainable governance and decision-making framework that enables transparent and accountable practices and promotes community participation.
The purpose of the community-led decision-making body was continue to represent the community beyond the lifetime of the Shaping the Future of Noojee project, which is scheduled to conclude in December 2026.
Ahead of time, the Governance Group transitioned into a not-for-profit organisation called the Noojee & District Community Development Association (NDCDA) in early 2026. This group will continue to provide strategic oversight, advocacy, and guidance for ongoing and emerging community-led initiatives post-transition. They will also continue with the below objectives and be the voice and advocacy body for the wider Noojee community beyond 2026.
Key Objectives:
Ensure community priorities remain central to ongoing development through community engagement and participation in decision-making.
Support transparent and accountable use of resources.
Advocate for Noojee and District’s long-term interests and sustainability.
Maintain partnerships with key stakeholders.
Review and provide recommendation of funding applications.
