At the 14 October 2026 Council Meeting, Baw Baw Shire Councillors moved to request the Minister for Planning appoint a Panel to consider all unresolved submissions to the planning scheme amendment C157bawb.
Project background
Council has prepared amendment C157bawb to the Baw Baw Planning Scheme, in accordance with Section 19 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
The amendment proposes to implement the recommendations of the Baw Baw Planning Scheme Review 2026 (PSR) by revising local content in the Municipal Planning Strategy and the Planning Policy Framework, by amending the schedules to zones, overlays, particular provisions, general provisions and operational provisions, and by making changes to the mapping of the Heritage Overlay.
The majority of the proposed changes are administrative in nature, ensuring the Planning Scheme conforms with the Ministerial Direction on the Form and Content of Planning Schemes.
Council resolved to prepare and exhibit amendment C157bawb at the Council meeting held on 25 March 2026.
