Planning Scheme Review - Planning Scheme Amendment C157bawb

Council has prepared amendment C157bawb to the Baw Baw Planning Scheme which is currently on public exhibition, in accordance with Section 19 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

The amendment proposes to implement the recommendations of the Baw Baw Planning Scheme Review 2026 (PSR) by revising local content in the Municipal Planning Strategy and the Planning Policy Framework, by amending the schedules to zones, overlays, particular provisions, general provisions and operational provisions, and by making changes to the mapping of the Heritage Overlay.

The majority of the proposed changes are administrative in nature, ensuring the Planning Scheme conforms with the Ministerial Direction on the Form and Content of Planning Schemes.

Council resolved to prepare and exhibit amendment C157bawb at the Council meeting held on 25 March 2026.

The amendment documentation can be accessed online via the Department of Transport and Planning website link provided in the 'Important Links' tab.

Submissions

Any person may make a submission about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.

The public exhibition period closes on 31 August 2026.
