Have your say on Baw Baw Shire's Draft Road Management Plan
Did you know Council has a network of over 1800km of sealed and unsealed roads and over 500km of sealed and gravel paths?
And this network continues to grow with the urban development we are experiencing here in Baw Baw Shire.
Every four years, Council is required to review its Road Managment Plan.
A Road Management Plan identifies how Council will manage its growing road and path networks by defining its service standards for a four year period. This includes inspection frequencies, intervention levels and response timeframes. Service standards are set based on various factors including road hierarchy and available budgets and resources. They must be met 100% of the time.
The RMP does not include all the various activities that are required on our road and paths - the undertaking of these activities is shared between internal teams and resources and external contractors.
The purpose of the review is to update the structure and content of the road management plan and to amend selected service standards relating to the inspection and repair of roads and paths.
At the 9 July 2025 Council Meeting, it was resolved to release the draft documents and invite written submissions from the community. For more about the Council Meeting and the Officers Report, visit www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au
A copy of the Draft Road Management Plan may be inspected at the Council’s Civic Offices at Drouin or Warragul between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, or accessed here on this page.
