Baw Baw Shire Council is responsible for the control of noxious weeds and pests declared in the Catchment and Land Protect Act 1994 on Council-managed roadsides.
Priorities for the control of weeds and pests on approximately 1400km of roadsides in rural areas are considered each year, through Council's Roadside Weed and Pest Control Program Plan.
This plan is reviewed periodically and endorsed by the Victorian State Government Department, Agricultural Victoria.
Council is reviewing the current Roadside Weed and Pest Control Program Plan that will used to direct and guide our weed and pest control activities from 2023 – 2026.
So we can consider the views of the community when developing the new plan, we sought community feedback on our current processes and community concerns. We're also asked about weed control activities on private properties in rural areas.
Thanks for your feedback
Please note the consultation period for this project closed at 5pm on Monday 11 December 2023.
