Council is improving how it designs and develops sporting pavilion projects in Baw Baw by introducing the Sports Pavilion Design and Development and Fair Access policies.
Together, the policies will provide a consistent approach to how Council will design, develop and upgrade new and existing sporting pavilions while addressing and eliminating causes of gender inequality in programs, communications and delivery of services relating to community sports infrastructure.
The policies focus on addressing design standards, facility funding models, and prioritisation criteria to provide a structured framework that will guide future pavilion projects that meet the evolving needs of the community while ensuring access to high-level recreation infrastructure for all and a consistent experience as each facility is constructed or renewed.
Thanks for your feedback!
Like the Baw Baw community, sporting clubs are made up of diverse people and no two clubs are the same.
To ensure everyone had a chance to shape how sporting pavilions are delivered in the future, we invited the community to review the two policies and provide feedback. Consultation closed at 5pm Friday, 15 March 2024.
