The Youth Voices Program provides an opportunity for young people to lead the planning and delivery of drug, alcohol and smoke-free events for the youth community in Baw Baw Shire.
The Program is a great way for young people from the area to develop event management skills and connections with the support and guidance from Council officers.
If you're aged 12 - 25 years and you live, work or study in Baw Baw, you're invited to join our committee to help plan, organize and deliver events such as;
Music Events
Cultural Events
Art Exhibitions
Film Festivals
Battle of the Bands
Music, Song-Writing and Dance Workshops.
Live Radio Shows
As part of the Program, members must be willing and able to commit to monthly meetings (either online or face-to-face) where they will have the opportunity to develop skills in a range of areas including;
Brainstorming and planning events
Contacting and allocating performers
Designing promotional material.
Sound and production
Photography
Managing budgets
Contacting and booking suppliers
Organising risk management procedures
Committee members also run events on the day, including managing performers, suppliers and crew and solving any problems that arise.
