The Youth Voices Program provides an opportunity for young people to lead the planning and delivery of drug, alcohol and smoke-free events for the youth community in Baw Baw Shire.

The Program is a great way for young people from the area to develop event management skills and connections with the support and guidance from Council officers.

If you're aged 12 - 25 years and you live, work or study in Baw Baw, you're invited to join our committee to help plan, organize and deliver events such as;

  • Music Events
  • Cultural Events
  • Art Exhibitions
  • Film Festivals
  • Battle of the Bands
  • Music, Song-Writing and Dance Workshops.
  • Live Radio Shows

As part of the Program, members must be willing and able to commit to monthly meetings (either online or face-to-face) where they will have the opportunity to develop skills in a range of areas including;

  • Brainstorming and planning events
  • Contacting and allocating performers
  • Designing promotional material.
  • Sound and production
  • Photography
  • Managing budgets
  • Contacting and booking suppliers
  • Organising risk management procedures

Committee members also run events on the day, including managing performers, suppliers and crew and solving any problems that arise.
