The development of an Events Strategy to support and enable community-led events and attract major events to our Shire is a key priority of the Council Plan 2025-2029 and the Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategy 2026-2030.

The Strategy will guide Council’s strategic decision-making and outline its vision and objectives to encourage, support, and facilitate community and destination events, as well as civic and major events.

It will provide a clear and realistic framework for Council to guide the future support and attraction of events that deliver social and economic benefits to the community and to the West Gippsland region, are delivered and supported by our community, and drive positive experiences for visitors.

Council invites the community to provide feedback on the draft strategy.

Consultation closes at 5pm on the 16 September 2026.
