What is an Events Strategy?
It’s a long-term plan that guides Council’s strategic decision-making and outlines its vision and objectives to encourage, support and facilitate a range of different events in the Shire. It provides a framework for Council to guide the future support and attraction of events that have social and economic benefits to the community and to the West Gippsland region, are delivered and supported by our community, and create positive experiences for visitors.
Why is the Strategy for 4 years?
A 4-year Strategy ensures there is enough time for actions to be taken to address the key priorities and that there is enough time for impacts to be monitored and measured. It also means that plans taking place now are responding to current needs and that the actions outlined in the Strategy are aligned to the current Council Plan.
Why is it important?
The Strategy will support the delivery of Council’s key objectives to ready the Shire for the future and support a vibrant quality of life as our community grows.
Who benefits from the Strategy?
