The feedback received from this consultation has been used to help shape the development of a new specification for the upcoming Aquatic and Leisure Facilities contract tender. 


Engagement Outcomes Summary

Overall, there was strong community support for our Aquatic and Leisure Facilities with key insights listed below:

•    125 responses received from community, current facility users and user groups.

•    76% of community members who completed the survey said that what they most liked about the facilities was the convenience.

•    Well used and like the social connection.

•    Feedback regarding facility condition – indication of age, condition and presentation highlighted.

•    Interest from community in utilising facility space more effectively.

•    Affordability, Cleanliness and Maintenance of Facilities are important considerations. 


Next Steps

The next steps in the Aquatic and Leisure Facility Contract tender process are:

•    Tender Release – Early November 2025.

•    Tender Close – Late December 2025.

•    Tender Evaluation – January 2026.

•    Award Contract – Late February 2026 – Council Decision is needed.

•    Transition Period – April – June 2026 (Only required if new Contractor appointed).

•    New Contract Commences – 1 July 2026.

    We're undertaking a review of the aquatic and leisure services in the Shire to understand what is important to our community when using the facilities.  

    The Baw Baw Leisure Facilities include:

    • Warragul Leisure Centre
    • Bellbird Park Indoor Centre
    • Drouin Outdoor Pool
    • Neerim South Outdoor Pool
    • Thorpdale Outdoor Pool 
    • Trafalgar Outdoor Pool
    • Rawson Indoor Pool.

    To assist us with the review, we're inviting you to provide your feedback through this survey to outline your experience in using the facilities. 

    The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. People aged 15 years and under should seek parental permission prior to completing the survey.

    This feedback will be used for reporting purposes only for the leisure service review.
